Nursing education at Andalas University was initially under the Faculty of Medicine, Andalas University (PSIK - FK Unand) which offered a Bachelor of Nursing followed by Nursing Professional Education with the Directorate General of Higher Education Decree No: 206/Dikti/Kep/1999, which was extended Decision no:. 65/DIKTI/KEP/2007 .. the first group of students enrolled in 1999 Bachelor of Nursing Study Program accredited B by the decision of the National University Accreditation Board no 002/BAN-PT/AK-XIII/S1/IV/ 2010, April 30, 2010 Based on the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Decree No. 25 of 2012 concerning the organizational structure and governance of Andalas University, PSIK FK UNAND was converted to the Faculty of Nursing on August 3, 2012. The Faculty of Nursing provides higher education in nursing and to produce nursing staff in accordance with national needs and new faces in nursing science, as well as being the center of nursing education in Western Indonesia
